Welcome to Les Gites de Fontenioux situated in the heart of the Gatine countryside. Set in beautiful gardens, we offer two, three bedroom gites - Marguerite and Violette. Both can be booked separately accommodating up to 6 people, or together for larger groups - there is a connecting door that can be opened between the two. If booked together, guests have exclusive access to the heated pool and all outdoor dining spaces. Whether you are looking for a few days away, or an extended stay, Les Gites de Fontenioux is the place to relax, unwind and get away from it all. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Les Gites De Fontenioux
Les Gites de Fontenioux is set just outside the small village of Vernoux-en-Gatine in the Poitou-Charentes region of France. The property is the old coach house and workers cottages for the Chateau de Fontenioux.
The unspoilt rural landscape surrounding the property make it
ideal for walking, cycling and fishing. For the more adventurous
there are endless attractions in the surrounding area to suit all
tastes. In Vernoux, just three minutes away by car, you will find a
bar/restaurant, La Petite Noisette and an excellent boulangerie
for all your sweet treats and beautiful bread.
A little further are the villages of L'Absie and Secondigny, just ten minutes away, with their bars, restaurants and shops. Parthenay and Fontenay le Comte, shrouded in history, are a mere thirty minute drive and well worth a visit.
We are also located an hour or so from two major theme park attractions, Puy du Fou and Futuroscope and an hour and a half from beautiful La Rochelle on the coast.

Directions by Road
Click on the map to the right and then follow these directions when you arrive in
Vernoux.

The Vernoux-en-Gatine Mairie (Town Hall) is on the main road. Take the road
opposite the Mairie, with green bollards (turn right if coming from L'Absie and left
if coming from Secondigny) C7 towards Le Beugnon.
Follow this road for around 2km, keeping left when the road forks at the statue.
Continue to a crossroads, marked by a give way sign. Turn right here and then first right, into the property.
Alternatively, if you would prefer, we can meet you at the Mairie and follow us home.
